A Review of National Amusement’s deceptive co-advertising:
Had fun with the big exception that National Amusement’s Showcase Cinema de Luxe in White Plains, New York, practices false advertising (and/or bait and switch)…the MoviePhone listing for the theater showed all the movie times but National Amusements DOES NOT indicate on their MoviePhone listings that certain shows are ‘Director’s Hall’. I parked and paid for a set period of time becuase we planned on seeing a certain showtime..but when I tried to buy the ticket (an adult and child), the clerk said that that show was ‘Director’s Hall’ and cost an incredible $14 (RIP OFF) for each ticket (no child discount)…and the staff and manager would not agree that their ad was misleading (I pulled it up on my iPad for proof) and the totally unbending and unsatisfactory staff advised me see the later show (half hour later) for the regular price..which was unacceptable since I did not pay for enough parking time and did not want to wait around an extra half hour with a teenager. National Amusements and their Showcase Theaters suck. My letter to the rip-off artists at National Amusements will be sent tonight. UPDATE: Free passes to another show and an apology. Thanks.
“Stevie Nicks, on the other hand, dripped with charisma. Her first, solo UK show in 20 years was a striking mix of witchy black dress, LA ditziness and songs that retained their moonlit magic even in daylight. The headlining Rod Stewart, who was joined by Ron Wood for two numbers, couldn’t compete, even with a set of party tunes and boundless bonhomie.” ~ Caroline Sullivan, Guardian
This is a very good interview…fun..Stevie is totally at ease…so gracious. A Legend.
Here are a few videos I shot one month ago…Stevie Nicks at The Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles:

BUT….this does not grant equal rights under federal law…Federal Taxation laws are not the same for gay-marrieds vs. straight-marrieds..and inheritance taxes are also inequitable for gays….Gays have to pay taxes on the value of employer-provided benefits for the same-sex partner whereas straight-marrieds do not (unfair)…and federal employees cannot (because of DOMA etc.) obtain health insurance coverage for their gay-married partners…this is unfair and inequitable and very costly and harmful to gay-married families…Gay Marriage must be sanctioned by our federal government otherwise certain citizens are treated unfairly…the hateful and bigoted views of the minority should not prevent any citizen from equal rights and protections.
I was just in that area of Santa Monica…I wish I found Whitey…The reward money is good!
